Google Sitemaps is an experiment in website crawling. Using Sitemaps to inform and direct the Google crawlers, we hope to speed up the discovery and addition of pages into Googles search index. By placing a Sitemap-formatted file your web site it enables Google to find out what pages are present and which have recently changed, and to crawl your site accordingly.
